German Cockroaches
1/2 inch, light brown, two dark stripes behind head. Most common indoor roach in apartments and kitchens; live near food/water/warmth; droppings and skins trigger asthma.
Oriental Cockroaches ("Water Bugs")
1–1.25 inch, dark brown/black, slower. Cool damp areas — basements, crawl spaces, drains; associated with moisture issues.
American Cockroaches
1.5 inch, reddish-brown. More common in commercial buildings and storm drains.
Brown-Banded Cockroaches
Small, less common, similar treatment.
